Under Construction, thank you for your patience.
As with all new subject materials there are a variety of ways in which faculty can facilitate the students’ learning. The broad subject of environmental health particularly lends itself to student generated inquiry. The teaching strategies that are included in the virtual textbook will provide faculty with a wide range of tools that can be used when integrating environmental health into undergraduate nursing education.
When using the virtual textbook, you will see the “ICON” icon throughout the “text” indicating that we have a suggested teaching strategy to aid in student learning. This may include a critical thinking question, a recommended reading (peer-reviewed or other); a good YouTube or other web-based material, or an actual assignment. At the end of each chapter you will find a compendium of the teaching aids for that chapter.
We know that some of you are new to this subject area and hope that you will find these helpful. We also know that some of you have already developed your own teaching strategies and we would really like you to share them with us. We’d also like to hear from you when you use the suggested strategies – how did they work? Did you adapt them in any way?
