Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments

About me

I recently defended my doctoral dissertation in Environmental Health Nursing Research at University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) focused on assessing field maintenance practices on athletic fields, including use of pesticides, and implementation of safer alternatives.  I am an Assistant Professor in Community Public Health Nursing at UMSON and work in the Environmental Health Education Center (EHEC).  My role within EHEC is to support creation of a web portal (e-commons.org) for nurses across the country and internationally interested in environment and health issues. I teach an undergraduate community health clinical and a senior practicum in community health.   I am also on the National Steering Committee of newly formed Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE) and a part of the Alliance’s Research Work Group.
