Let’s be blunt. Women are dying in order to keep Let’s be blunt. Women are dying in order to keep the profits of Big Oil billionaires rising. We’re staring down a climate catastrophe, and it’s women and children who stand to lose the most.

Our rights are vanishing with the rising temperatures. When disaster strikes, we make up 80% of those who are displaced. We’re 14 times more likely to die. These billionaires make a fortune irreparably damaging the planet and then turn around to bankroll right-wing politicians who will cut their taxes. It’s a sick cycle — and we need to put an end to it.

We’re assembling a feminist force that knits together climate defense with struggles for bodily autonomy, racial justice, and migrant safety – because the fight for our planet and the fight for our bodies belong on the same front.

Attention ANHE Members: Support activists, health Attention ANHE Members: Support activists, health care professionals, and the We Are America March to DC!

Many concerned citizens, including the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE)’ Director of Member Engagement and Professional Education, Dr. Hannah Noel, DNP, RN, are walking across four states - 160 miles - in an effort to hold America accountable to the rights written into its founding document: the Constitution. The We Are America March began at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA on September 6th and will end in the U.S. Capital on September 19th where the group plans to deliver a copy of the Constitution directly to Congress.

Why? For many reasons: from climate change, racism, and gun violence to addiction, food insecurity, isolation, attacks on immigrants, LGBTQ+ rights, and reproductive health, to name a few. As nurses are on the frontlines of all of these intersecting threats to health, ANHE supports those walking with the We Are America March and encourages others to join in support.

Yesterday, ANHE joined health care professionals i Yesterday, ANHE joined health care professionals in Congress to oppose the Trump administration’s reckless attempt to roll back the EPA’s Endangerment Finding.

“The climate crisis is a public health emergency. It demands bold and ambitious action. It demands action grounded in sound science. There is an overwhelming scientific consensus that emissions from human activities are accelerating climate change. The Trump Administration's effort to repeal the EPA’s endangerment finding is not only dangerous — it’s an attack on science and on the health of the American people.” — Cara Cook, ANHE
