The latest Safe for Swimming report from Environment America reveals how sewage overflows, pollution, and underinvestment in infrastructure are making our waters hazardous to public health.

🦠 Dirty water = real risks: GI illness, respiratory infections, and more. It’s time to protect our beaches and the people who swim in them.

🚨 Detroiters are facing dangerous levels of pol 🚨 Detroiters are facing dangerous levels of pollution and the EPA is making it worse.

At a press event yesterday in Kemeny Park, Mia McPherson, RN, spoke on behalf of ANHE and joined community leaders to speak out against sweeping federal rollbacks of climate and environmental protections.

🗣 “As a nurse, I bear witness to the health consequences of pollution every day. We cannot afford to have existing environmental protections dismantled. These rollbacks will lead to more cancer, lung disease, and preventable deaths.” – Mia McPherson, RN,

Meghan Richards of Eastside Detroit added: “Resilience should never be code for abandonment. We deserve more than survival—we deserve justice.”

We stand with Detroiters demanding clean air, strong climate standards, and public health protections that put people over profit.
