With the EPA’s plan to repeal the Endangerment Finding in motion, communities across the country face serious risks to clean air and public health.
State leaders STILL have the power and authority to advance programs that will safeguard public health.
The United States has a long history of investing in clean air and clean energy to help communities remove the most polluting diesel vehicles from the road, expand renewable energy, reduce power plant emissions, and support families in transitioning to healthier homes and appliances. However, with the repeal of the EPA’s endangerment finding, the air we breathe will become more polluted, and the health of our patients will suffer.
The federal government’s attacks on public health mean more climate and air pollution — threatening health outcomes for everyone. As the federal government turns its back on science and public health, state leaders must stand up for the health and safety of our communities by advancing policies and programs to provide cleaner air and a healthier, more equitable future for all.
Nurses are on the frontlines of our healthcare systems, and we see the toll of air pollution and climate-related illness firsthand. Join the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE) and urge your Governor to protect our communities from deadly air and climate pollution.
