In a new letter, nurses on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic are calling on President-elect Biden’s transition team, and specifically Biden’s nominee for Interior Secretary, Rep. Deb Haalland, and his nominee for EPA Administrator, Mr. Michael Regan to pause oil and gas leasing on federal public land and reopen the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for particulate matter and ozone. The letter comes as a new report from the Alliance for Nurses for Healthy Environments warning about the implications of environmental pollution from the oil and gas industry on COVID-19 health outcomes.
