Tell Nevada Lawmakers and Utility Regulators: Invest in Local Clean Energy

Nevada families deserve rapid and equitable progress away from methane gas and toward local clean energy sources like solar and geothermal power. We need investments in energy efficiency and weatherization. We cannot tie our families to dirty fossil fuels for another generation.

ANHE Nurses joined Healthy Schools Network, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, the American Lung Association, the Center for Environmental Health, the Environmental Working Group and Maryland Children’s Environmental Health Coalition in a sign on letter of support for $100 million in funding for EPA’s healthy schools and children’s health programs!

Right now is the time to endorse $100 million in EPA’s FY 2026 budget for Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools and children’s health programs, as requested in identical Dear Colleague letters signed by 30 House members and 20 Senators. The funding meets a critical unaddressed need for a modest federal investment.

EPA’s indoor air and children’s health programs have delivered high quality, science-based guidance, training, and resources to schools across the country for decades. EPA’s IAQ Tools for Schools has been the federal government’s principal source of assistance to schools for preventing and resolving indoor air quality problems, such as reducing asthma triggers, improving ventilation, and properly managing cleaning products and chemicals. Funding for EPA’s program is very important for healthy schools and the health of children, teachers and staff–especially for low income and rural-remote communities.
