Julie Postma, PhD, RNDr. Postma worked clinically as a cardiothoracic nurse before earning a PhD in nursing science at the University of Washington School of Nursing, where she studied occupational and environmental health. Her program of research aims to develop and test interventions that reduce environmental health risks and measures for self-efficacy in environmental risk reduction. Her current NINR-funded study, “Promoting Environmental Risk Reduction among Young Adults with Asthma during Wildfire Smoke Events” is currently recruiting participants. She is the Associate Dean for Research at Washington State University College of Nursing.
