Climate Crisis: A call for Nursing Action

We’re sorry but our CE is unavailable at this time as we are moving over to a different education system. Please check back soon for access to our new and improved CE platform.

Thank you for joining us for our webinar Climate Crisis: A Call for Nursing Action. This webinar provides an overview of the climate science, how climate change impacts health, and the actions nurses can take in different practice settings to make a difference.

About the speakers:

Lisa Jordan is professor of nursing at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland.
Carol Lindsey is a retired nurse practitioner and active with the Florida Clinicians for Climate Action and the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network.
Karen Wolf is a nurse practitioner, community health  clinical specialist, and a Climate for Health Ambassador.

Nurses are eligible to receive 1 hour of nursing continuing education credit after watching the full webinar and completing the post-test and evaluation (you must achieve an 80% or higher on the post-test to receive the credit).  It may take 2-3 business days for you to receive your post-test score and CE certificate as scores need to be manually reviewed and released.  If you have any questions or issues regarding your CE certificate, please email hannah@envirn.org

After viewing the webinar, participants will:

  • Discuss historical and current examples of how nurses have engaged in advocacy to promote healthy environments.
  • Describe at least three ways climate damage impacts the health of the public.
  • Identify three actions nurses can take to advocate for climate health.
