This summer, groups with the Campaign for Healthier Solutions screened personal care products at dollar stores using Clearya Survey. Six out of 78 products screened listed chemicals that are prohibited in cosmetics in at least one U.S. state, now or starting in 2027, including PFAS, formaldehyde releasers, toluene and lilial. Many more products openly listed ingredients linked to health harms, including endocrine disruption, reproductive harm, and cancer.

Health professionals see the climate crisis up clo

Health professionals see the climate crisis up close. So why are they so often missing
when the plans get made?

They treat people through extreme heat and manage disease outbreaks after floods.
When storms cut water and power, they keep clinics running. They know where health
systems break, and what it takes to keep care going.

And the pressure is growing. A Super El Niño is strengthening in the Pacific, and
forecasters say it could be the strongest on record. It will put even more strain on health
systems that are already stretched, so leaving health workers out of the planning is a risk
we can't afford.

That's why we've joined @healthcarewithoutharm and health professional networks
representing millions of health workers worldwide in a joint submission to the COP31
Presidency. Together, we're proposing a dedicated health workforce pillar in the Antalya
Initiative for Resilient Health Systems, so frontline experience shapes climate resilience
plans from the start.

We've offered to help build it, from practical tools to a real seat for health professionals
at COP31 Health Day.

Health professionals belong at the table, not just on the front line.
Ask your country's health ministry to support a health workforce pillar at COP31, and send
this to a nurse, doctor or health worker whose voice should be in the room.

🚨 Nurses Condemn EPA Methane Rule Rollback

The EPA has proposed rolling back the 2024 Methane Rule, weakening protections against harmful pollution from oil and gas operations linked to asthma, respiratory disease, and other serious health risks.

ANHE strongly opposes the proposal and calls for strong, enforceable methane standards to protect public health, particularly for communities living near oil and gas facilities.

Leaders in Washington are focused on keeping the cost of powering AI data centers off families’ electricity bills. But electricity isn’t the only cost families can face.

Pollution from the power plants and generators serving data centers can also mean medical bills, missed work and missed school. Those health costs need to be part of decisions about where data centers go and how they’re powered.

If families shouldn’t have to pay the electricity costs, they shouldn’t have to pay avoidable health costs either.

ANHE joined more than 70 signatories urging EPA to appoint and convene a scientifically credible, varied and balanced Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee (CHPAC). EPA has left the committee partially unseated, failing to meet its promise and depriving the agency of independent, science-based guidance on protecting children from pollution and toxic chemicals when families need it most.

Pennsylvania could become the next U.S. state to ban paraquat, one of the most toxic herbicides still legal in this country.

Two bipartisan bills could make that happen, but they still need a vote. Vermont banned paraquat in May 2026, and California announced a phase-out in August 2026.

Pennsylvania could be next, but lawmakers need to hear from you.

👉 If you live in PA: Contact your state legislators and tell them to bring HB 1135 and SB 1158 to a vote.

👉 Don’t live in PA? visit our friends @environmentalworkinggroup to tell your own state’s lawmakers to ban paraquat. And share this post so more people learn about the fight to ban paraquat nationwide.

Your vote is your voice, and you have the right to cast it freely, safely, and without intimidation. Knowing your rights is not just about protecting yourself. It is about showing up for your community, your neighbors, and every eligible voter who deserves to participate with confidence.
