France
Yesterday was Bastille Day, maybe the lament from Les Miserables “I Dreamed a Dream” is appropriate to our times, and the Tour de France is in full swing. So let’s see who wears those TdF jerseys: we’ll give the king of the mountains to Beth Schenk, the best young rider to Robyn Gilden, sprint champion to Joyce Stein in thanks for leading the build to the recent ANHE conference, most aggressive rider to our ED Katie Huffling for her tenaciousness, and the yellow jersey for winning the G.C. to Ruth McDermott-Levy. Please visit those links. (I love the TdF – an excuse to open the local french bakery at 6am each morning for three weeks)
Mac and Cheese
I know you have been reading about Mac and Cheese and Phthalates. Read more at: NYT, CDC, Study, and Report. I have been out of touch – do those boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese still cost 25 cents?
EPA
Remember when Toxic Substances Control Act reform was a good thing? Is there anything they cannot mess up? Go to EPA rules.
Autism
Study looks at autism and heavy metals. Go to Autism. (Thanks Barb Sattler!)
Gym
As if i needed another excuse to not go to the gym. I think these cleaning fluids are what I see people spraying on the equipment. Go to Quats. As noted above I am hanging out at the french bakery anyway.
Donate Donate
If you are like me, you get many emails each day from great organizations that provide content AND ask for a donation in each email. We don’t do that, though maybe we should. Anyway – this month we are asking you to step up and donate to ANHE. ANHE is your nursing organization that works for you on environmental issues. Keep it going, go to Donate.
