Carbon

Does anyone think fracking to get more of the oily stuff out of the ground is not a problem for the climate and anyone near the process? While I cannot say I actually remember anyone making a promise take a look at – The False Promise of Natural Gas. Take a look at the Environment series from the Nurse-Led Care Consortium, Part 3 about climate change and health.

Chemicals

Good news out of the EU as they are banning the use of the pesticide chlorpyrifos, go to Chlorpyrifos. Read the piece to appreciate the EPA’s position. Now is a good time to remind ourselves that in most states the legislature will convene soon and we can ask them why it makes sense to damage brains in this way.

Picture Show

Barb Sattler told us to look forward to the movie Dark Waters. It is out now. Though it hurts to combine rotten tomatoes and praise it does seem like the movie is well liked, go to RT. The Mom’s Clean Air Force has a nice piece on the movie and some links where you can learn more about these forever chemicals, go to Mom.

Podcasts

I hope you are listening to the Podcasts. Most recently Zahner, Potter, and highlights from the UN Civil Society.  Go to: Podcasts. You know how to download the app and listen.

CEHN

The Children’s Health Network is developing state fact sheets. Take a look at the first three at: State Facts. Even if your state is not one of the three (and my math tells me it is probably not) click on one of the states and note the “references” which could help you build your own document.
