A philosophy without a Utopia is like the sky without stars. It is very inspiring until it gets dark. W. A. Williams

Fish

Not a great day for fish. Fish, ghost fleas, and Mercury. Usually we like to reference to the specific research page. However, this time we learned that the Alaska Pollock is the largest fishery in the United States. So learn about how warming water is harder on fish than we thought by going to the ADN Fish Story.

Summer

Across 11 Western states, almost 67% of the land is abnormally dry and 46% is locked in some form of drought as of June 23, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Almost half of California is in drought. And I am mostly amazed at what I do not know – who knew there was such a thing as dry lightning. Keep up with your fire info at Fires. Hurts my brain to think about how one does social distancing while working in a forest fire camp operation.

Drawdown

You have joined Nurses Drawdown. Now go to the Take Action page, scroll down, and note the ask for video and plant based recipes. Show us how you are making a difference in your person life, your professional life, or your policy life. Write us a good recipe. My personal first prize will go to the 2 minute video that tells me how to make plant based chocolate chip cookies.
