On June 6, 2025,  the U.S. Department of Transportation’s  NHTSA finalized a rule without public input to “Reset” the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Program.

📉 Weakening these standards threatens hard-won progress in reducing dangerous air pollution—putting children, older adults, and medically vulnerable groups especially at risk.

Nearly 70,000 children across Pennsylvania are at risk of daily exposure to toxic diesel pollution in the places they live, learn, and play, according to a new report by the Clean Trucks Pennsylvania Coalition.

122 schools, 217 childcare centers, and 300 public parks are located within 500 meters of interstate highways—posing a serious threat to children’s health.

This virtual briefing will feature an expert panel discussing the report’s key findings and the urgent actions needed to protect our communities.
